You are so annoyed with your everyday routine, but you have no choice and do your job.

Maybe it is time to keep your self calm and make sure that you will not destroy your day…or even your reputation at work. Here are some tips on how to deal with burn out at work:

Wake up with a positive outlook. If you know that you will be drained from work because one of your colleagues or your supervisor is absent, you have no choice but to lift your spirits up! Say a little prayer or read an inspiring quote that could be your source of inspiration to survive the day.

Don’t spend too much time reading your email. Research has proven that spending time on writing or replying to emails will make you more exhausted. It is also advised that reading your email before and after your work schedule is more draining. Try to manage your time. Start your day with something light and gradually increase your load. Allot a schedule to browse through your emails, but don’t feel frustrated if you can’t read them all.

Give yourself a break. The reason why we have an hour of lunch break is for us to have time to relax our minds from dealing work. It is enough to temporarily re-energize ourselves. Utilize it. Enjoy it. Have lunch out of your office or maybe use the time to take a nap. Your performance is bound to improve.

Be on time. As much as you are punctual at work, you must not hesitate to go home early, too. Rendering overtime has its pros and cons: it shows your eagerness to achieve a certain goal but, on the contrary, it might also show how unproductive you are during working hours. Tardiness is a bad habit, too. When you are late, your mind is preoccupied with worrying and hurrying. Being punctual frees your mind from this and makes it ready to focus on work.

Work is endless; your life is not. Work and business makes the world functional. This is an inevitable fact of life. This is why it is important to be at our most productive in the 8-hour work period we have. After that, allot time for yourself, your family and your friends or spend the remaining time doing the things that you love.

Life is full of adventure. We should remember that we live in a world full of obligations. It is one way of growing learning new lessons. Overcoming trials shows that we are more capable on dealing with greater things. Avoid the feeling of burn out at work and put your perspectives on the right track.

–

Article by Camille Nunez

Don’t let this stop you!
