The Department of Education defers the pilot Face-to-Face in NCR due to a sudden surge of COVID-19 cases.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made in line with the Metro Manila\u2019s alert level raised from Level 2 to Level 3.<\/p>\n

“Consistent with the recent memorandum of the IATF for the Alert Level 3 protocols and considering the notable increase of COVID-19 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR), DepEd, in consultation with DOH, confirms that face to face classes for pilot schools in NCR are suspended until the alert level reverts to Level 2,” DepEd announced on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Prohibited activities<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Under Alert Level 3, the following establishments and activities that are considered high-risk for transmission are not allowed:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Face to face or in-person classes for basic education, except those earlier permitted by the IATF and Office of the President;<\/li>\n
  2. Contact sports, except those conducted under bubble-type setup, as provided for under relevant guidelines adopted by the IATF, Games and Amusement Board, and Philippine Sports Commission, and approved by the LGU where such games shall be held;<\/li>\n
  3. Funfairs\/carnivals and kid amusement industries like playgrounds, playroom, and kiddie rides;<\/li>\n
  4. Venues with live voice or wind-instrument performers and audiences such as in karaoke bars, clubs, concert halls, and theaters;<\/li>\n
  5. Casinos, horse racing, cockfighting and operation of cockpits, lottery and betting shops, and other gaming establishments, except those that will be allowed by the IATF or Office of the President; and<\/li>\n
  6. Gatherings in residences with individuals not belonging to the same household.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Meanwhile, the face-to-face classes in pilot schools in areas under Alert Levels 1 and 2 shall continue while the\u00a0 DepEd finalizes its report on the pilot face-to-face classes.<\/p>\n

    As of January 5, 2022, the Department of Health recorded 10,775\u00a0 new cases of COVID-19.<\/a><\/p>\n
