{"id":59568,"date":"2021-03-17T11:00:47","date_gmt":"2021-03-17T03:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/?p=59568"},"modified":"2021-03-17T11:29:59","modified_gmt":"2021-03-17T03:29:59","slug":"dot-to-launch-gci-to-connect-calabarzon-tourist-spots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/2021\/03\/17\/dot-to-launch-gci-to-connect-calabarzon-tourist-spots\/","title":{"rendered":"DOT To Launch GCI To Link Calabarzon Tourist Spots"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Green Corridor Initiative (GCI)<\/strong>, a tourism\u00a0project\u00a0by the\u00a0Department of Tourism (DOT), will soon connect tourist spots\u00a0in Region-4A (Calabarzon) under the new normal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-48123\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/09\/masungi-5-e1568618725724.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em>Masungi Georeserve<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">In a press conference, DOT Secretary <strong>Bernadette Romulo-Puyat<\/strong> said they fully support the\u00a0project and\u00a0they will be extending support through online marketing campaigns as well as providing capacity-building training for tourism investors.<\/p>\n<p>Starting with Rizal, Romulo-Puyat said the GCI could interlink several towns in the safety of a travel bubble.<\/p>\n<p>She told reporters that\u00a0Rizal is blessed to have many open-air nature, culture-based tourism products and it has been proven that as long as open-air and protocols are in place, they can restart tourism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-43934\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/05\/pinto-art.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"566\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/05\/pinto-art.jpg 850w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/05\/pinto-art-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/05\/pinto-art-768x511.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><em><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Pinto Art Museum\/IMAGE from Philippine Primer<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Romulo-Puyat said destinations in Rizal correspond with the travel preferences of local tourists amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which include destinations\u00a0near\u00a0Metro Manila and with more open spaces.<\/p>\n<p>She added that through the GCI, the City of Antipolo and the Municipalities of Angono, Taytay, and Cainta are connected in the safety of a travel bubble, furthering\u00a0the department&#8217;s commitment to promote the province as a fun, sustainable, and safe destination.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, Puyat said the DOT will strictly monitor the compliance of all accredited tourism establishments with the Department of Health public health standards as well as the DOT health and safety guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith several ongoing initiatives to spur tourism, we have to ensure that there are adequate accredited establishments to serve and accommodate visitors,&#8221;
