In what will probably come down as the tightest vice presidential race in history, contenders Cong. Maria Leonora \u201cLeni\u201d Robredo and Sen. Ferdinand \u201cBongbong\u201d Marcos, Jr. are both claiming victory.<\/span><\/p>\n

This hotly contested race has seen its share of celebrations, allegations of cheating, and early proclamations of victory. After scouring the internet, here\u2019s what we know about the race for the second highest post in the country so far: <\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Out of the six candidates, four have already conceded to the leading vote-getters. Senators Antonio Trillanes IV<\/a>, Francis \u201cChiz\u201d Escudero<\/a>, and Gregorio \u201cGringo\u201d Honasan II<\/a> conceded a day after the elections. Alan Peter Cayetano<\/a> admitted defeat two days after.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Both camps have claimed victory ahead of the official canvassing on May 25. Marcos based his claim<\/a> on their internal tally of COCs, while Robredo based hers<\/a> on the partial, unofficial results from the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 As of May 18, 4:56 p.m.<\/a>, Robredo is ahead of Marcos in the polls by over 200,000 votes. Both camps seem to have agreed to a poll audit<\/a> to verify the election results.<\/span><\/p>\n

The official canvassing of votes<\/a> for president and vice president will start on May 25.<\/span><\/p>\n
