To speed up the process of contact tracing, the\u00a0MRT-3\u00a0digitized its\u00a0manual contact tracing process through its\u00a0MRT-3 Trace web application on Monday, January 18.<\/div>\n

According to\u00a0MRT-3 Director for Operations Michael Capati,\u00a0MRT-3 Trace is a web application that will help them and the passengers avoid further transmission of the COVID-19 virus through direct contact between the commuters and their personnel. He added that it will ease the process of contact tracing,\u00a0 which in turn will prevent long queues in stations.<\/p>\n

To register, passengers must go to\u00a0trace.dotrmrt3.gov.ph and fill out the basic information such as full name, birth date, address, and contact number. After that, they should activate\u00a0their smartphone location services. When at the MRT-3, passengers need to scan the unique quick response (QR) code located at designated areas in the station. Lastly, they must present the verification message to the security personnel before entering the station.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

All information gathered will be sent to the MRT-3\u2019s Data Center for easy tracking of individuals. The MRT-3 Trace is compliant with Republic Act 1017 or the Data Privacy Act.<\/p>\n

The web app is contactless and only requires a one-time registration for passengers to avoid duplicate accounts. The MRT-3 Trace registration is free.<\/p>\n

For passengers who do not have smartphones, they can manually answer the health declaration forms being given by the security personnel upon entering the station.<\/p>\n

The MRT-3 Trace is a technology-based contact tracing web application developed by the MRT-3 Support Division personnel, intending to speed up the time-consuming manual contact tracing process and to avoid direct contact between the passengers and MRT-3 personnel.<\/p>\n

Its\u00a0full implementation will begin in February.<\/p>\n
