Just like Baguio, Ilocos Norte, and Boracay, one of the country’s top tourist destinations\u2014El Nido<\/strong>, is easing its travel bubble restrictions to welcome in more tourists starting October 30<\/strong> as announced by the Department of Tourism (DOT).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Agreed by the\u00a0provincial government of Palawan, El Nido is bound to move on to the second phase of its travel bubble allowing\u00a0guests to enter the island provided that a negative RT-PCR test result at least 72 hours prior to the trip must be submitted.<\/p>\n

Last July, El Nido Resorts was the first to reopen to tourists outside of the province and was the\u00a0only tourism establishment in Palawan to have a\u00a0Certificate of Authority to Operate (CAO) prior to the travel bubble strategy.<\/p>\n

According to Tourism Secretary\u00a0Bernadette Romulo-Puyat,\u00a0there are now nine tourist establishments granted with CAO and 27 establishments with\u00a0Provisional Certificate of Authority to Operate (PCAO) in El Nido that may start accepting guests.<\/p>\n

The DOT has not yet released specific information as local authorities iron out details for the travel bubble’s expansion. However, the tourism department is taking steps to increase tourism preparedness in Palawan with medical services, facilities, and emergency response protocols among others.<\/p>\n

Palawan was hailed as 2020’s Best Island in the World<\/a> by\u00a0the world-renowned travel publication Travel + Leisure, while El Nido’s Nacpan Beach claimed 4th place in Tripladvisor’s 25 most loved beaches in Asia<\/a>.<\/p>\n
