{"id":56991,"date":"2020-09-14T10:00:14","date_gmt":"2020-09-14T02:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/?p=56991"},"modified":"2020-10-05T16:08:12","modified_gmt":"2020-10-05T08:08:12","slug":"dot-now-allows-staycations-in-gcq-areas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/2020\/09\/14\/dot-now-allows-staycations-in-gcq-areas\/","title":{"rendered":"Staycations Now Allowed in GCQ Areas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><em><strong>Updated as of October 2, 2020<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Department of Tourism (DOT) has approved staycations\u00a0in hotels in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) as a bid to gradually restart tourism activities in the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">With the go-signal from the\u00a0Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID),\u00a0DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said that allowing staycations in hotels to resume is to\u00a0explore ways in restarting tourism during the quarantine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-54172\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/03\/Hotel-Celeste06Philippine-Primer.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"801\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/03\/Hotel-Celeste06Philippine-Primer.jpg 801w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/03\/Hotel-Celeste06Philippine-Primer-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/03\/Hotel-Celeste06Philippine-Primer-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 801px) 100vw, 801px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Puyat signed the administrative order which allows \u201cstaycations\u201d for persons of all ages, except those with underlying medical conditions, within areas under GCQ.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">According to the guidelines, each guest is\u00a0required to present a negative result from a rapid antigen test conducted on the same day of check-in. The order also provides that all accommodation establishments in areas declared to be under GCQ must secure a DOT Certificate of Authority to Operate for Staycations prior to accommodating any guests for a staycation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Further,\u00a0establishments must follow guidelines on guest handling, including the maximum number of guests per room, as well as health and safety standards for ancillary establishments. They may also resume operations of ancillary facilities such as gyms, swimming pools, restaurants, and other food and beverage outlets, except for bars that remain prohibited in GCQ areas.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/media\/set\/?vanity=DepartmentOfTourism&#038;set=a.3671317606228418&#038;__tn__=%2CO<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Contactless and cashless transactions for taking bookings and payments are also mandatory to promote minimal physical contact among staff and guests.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">More importantly,\u00a0the guidelines prescribed that establishments must adhere to other issuances on health and safety standards from the Department of Trade and Industry or Department of Health as well as rules and regulations imposed by the LGU concerned.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Hotel Sales and Marketing Association Philippines President Christine Ibarreta expressed their readiness to welcome guests back in hotels and resorts. Safety and sanitation protocols will still be observed in their member hotels.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s good news for hotels and resorts as the safety and sanitation protocols are in place with our member hotels, we are much ready to welcome guests back.
