Now that Metro Manila has transitioned to a less stringent form of quarantine, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has come up with &#8220;a\u00a0partial, gradual, calculated, and in phases approach in providing mobility to commuters&#8221; to be carried out as public transportation resumes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-51580\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/12\/edsa-traffic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/12\/edsa-traffic.jpg 800w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/12\/edsa-traffic-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/12\/edsa-traffic-768x513.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">According to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), there are two phases in the implementation of the said approach:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Phase 1<\/strong>\u00a0(June 1 to 21) &#8211;\u00a0operations of rail lines, bus augmentation system, taxis, and Transport Network Vehicle Services (TNVS) have resumed; new rationalized city bus routes have opened, some local government units (LGUs) have allowed tricycles to operate<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Phase 2<\/strong>\u00a0(June 22 onwards) &#8211;\u00a0other modes of transport are gradually being allowed to operate, modern PUVs commenced operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With that, here is a list of modern PUJs and city bus routes traversing Metro Manila and other nearby areas that are now open for the public.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Modern PUJs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Modern public utility jeepneys (PUJs) or those units that have complied with the requirements set by the Omnibus Franchising Guidelines are now allowed to operate the following<strong> 24 routes<\/strong> with 10 more to be added on June 26:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vito Cruz Taft Avenue-PITX Loop Service<\/li>\n<li>Alabang Town Center (ATC)-Ayala Alabang Village<\/li>\n<li>Filinvest City Loop<\/li>\n<li>Nichols-Vito Cruz<\/li>\n<li>Boni Robinson\u2019s Complex-Kalentong\/JRC vice versa<\/li>\n<li>Boni Pinatubo \u2013 Stop and Shop, vice versa<\/li>\n<li>Punta-Quiapo via Sta. Ana<\/li>\n<li>Divisoria-Gasak via H. All passengers and drivers\/operators must also wear face masks at all times and observe physical distancing inside the jeepney. Further, the passenger load must not exceed 50% of the jeepney&#8217;s sitting capacity (excluding the driver and conductor).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">City Buses<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">There are now a total of <strong>31 rationalized city bus routes<\/strong>\u00a0operational in Metro Manila.
