{"id":56145,"date":"2020-06-17T11:00:48","date_gmt":"2020-06-17T03:00:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/?p=56145"},"modified":"2020-06-17T11:42:35","modified_gmt":"2020-06-17T03:42:35","slug":"prrd-extends-gcq-in-metro-manila-and-other-areas-until-june-30","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/2020\/06\/17\/prrd-extends-gcq-in-metro-manila-and-other-areas-until-june-30\/","title":{"rendered":"PRRD Extends GCQ in Metro Manila and Other Areas Until June 30"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">President Rodrigo Duterte approved\u00a0the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases&#8217; (IATF) recommendation to extend the <strong>General Community Quarantine (GCQ) classification in Metro Manila<\/strong> and other areas starting <strong>June 16\u00a0to June 30, 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The\u00a0IATF&#8217;s recommendation\u00a0stated in Resolution No. 46-A explained that the basis to relax, retain or tighten the quarantine classifications is the doubling rate of COVID-19 infections as well as the capacity of critical health care.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-56148\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/06\/Duterte_PCOO.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/06\/Duterte_PCOO.jpg 800w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/06\/Duterte_PCOO-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/06\/Duterte_PCOO-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em>President\u00a0 Duterte holds a meeting with members of IATF-EID in Malaca\u00f1ang on June 15, 2020 \/IMAGE Presidential Photo by Simeon Celi, Jr. for PCOO<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Aside from Metro Manila, other areas in Luzon placed under extended GCQ are\u00a0Cagayan, Isabela (Santiago City), Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino in\u00a0Cagayan Valley (Region 2); Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Tarlac, and Olongapo City in Central Luzon (Regoin 3); entire CALABARZON\u00a0 (Region 4-A); and Occidental Mindoro in MIMAROPA (Region 4-B).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The provinces of Bohol, Mandaue City and Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor in Central Visayas; and\u00a0Davao City and Zamboanga City in Mindanao\u00a0were also placed under extended GCQ.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Meanwhile, the areas classified under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) were as follows:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Batanes<\/li>\n<li>CAR<\/li>\n<li>Region 3 (Angeles City, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Zambales)<\/li>\n<li>Region 1<\/li>\n<li>Region 4-B (except Occidental Mindoro)<\/li>\n<li>Lucena City<\/li>\n<li>Region 5<\/li>\n<li>Region 6<\/li>\n<li>Region 8<\/li>\n<li>Region 9 (except Zamboanga City)<\/li>\n<li>Region 10<\/li>\n<li>Region 11 (except Davao City)<\/li>\n<li>Region 12<\/li>\n<li>Region 13<\/li>\n<li>BARMM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/154701207892882\/posts\/3627536317276003\/<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Cebu City, however, was reverted back to Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) until\u00a0the end of the month due to the surge of COVID-19 positive cases in the province.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In a statement,\u00a0Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that the widespread community transmission and the increasing number of new cases in Cebu City&#8217;s barangays are the reasons cited why the said city is back to ECQ.
