It’s been two months since the Philippines was put under strict quarantine measures amid the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. It has caused many establishments such as malls, restaurants, and businesses to temporarily halt its services to comply with the government’s efforts to\u00a0control the further spread of the virus in the country.<\/p>\n

Now that the quarantine measures in Metro Manila\u00a0were eased from Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to General Community Quarantine (GCQ), establishments are granted to operate again given that they follow the\u00a0guidelines\u00a0set by the Inter-Agency Task Force<\/a> and the Department of Trade and Industry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This means that\u00a0only limited\u00a0industries are allowed to fully operate, while some are allowed to operate at 50%. In this case, malls and shopping centers around Metro Manila have already opened not for leisure activities but for essential needs only like grocery, hardware supplies, and more.<\/p>\n

Stringent safety measures are also implemented in their malls such as mandatory thermal scanning and foot bath, social distancing, sanitation, and more.\u00a0Pick-up counters and drive-thru stations are also in place for takeout orders and deliveries.<\/p>\n
