The government has long been planning and eyeing to finally roll out the tests as the number of COVID-19 cases in the country continues to rise and now stands at<strong> 4,932<\/strong> with a total of 315 deaths and 242 recoveries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.doh.gov.ph\/doh-press-release\/%20COVID-DAILY-TESTING-CAPACITY-INCREASES-NUMBERS-TO-IMPROVE-FURTHER-TO-10K\" target=\"_blank\">press release<\/a> published early this month, the Department of Health (DOH) said\u00a0it will be capable of conducting 3,000 tests per day as a result of its recently expanded testing protocol. It also aims to further increase capacity between 8,000 to 10,000 tests by the end of April.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-55425\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/04\/Muntinlupa-e1586842428924.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><em><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">IMAGE\u00a0muntinlupacity.gov.ph<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">DOH has partnered with\u00a0the University of the Philippines-National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology in deploying over 300 volunteers in 15 subnational laboratories nationwide that can conduct COVID-19 testing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>Also read:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/2020\/03\/23\/laboratories-that-offer-testing-for-covid-19-in-ph\/\" target=\"_blank\">Laboratories That Offer COVID-19 Testing in PH<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In relation to this, several local governments in Metro Manila have already begun their localized targeted testing. DOH spokesperson Ma. Rosario Vergeire described this as helpful to the strategy of the national government regarding expanded or mass testing.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Manila City<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">According to the Manila Public Information Office, Manila Mayor Francisco &#8220;Isko Moreno&#8221; Domagoso has given the go signal to conduct localized targeted mass testing for the Manila Health Department (MHD) and the city\u2019s six district hospitals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The\u00a0nation&#8217;s capital is cable of conducting more than a thousand COVID-19 swab tests a week.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ManilaPIO\/photos\/a.610327329451960\/839107283240629\/?type=3&#038;theater<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Below are the city government-operated health facilities\u00a0capable of conducting about 232 COVID-19 swab tests per day, or 1,624 per week:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">MHD\/Delpan Quarantine Facility &#8211; 50 tests per day<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Ospital ng Maynila &#8211; 20 tests per day<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Sta. Ana Hospital\/MIDCC &#8211; 30 tests per day<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center &#8211; 50 tests per day<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Ospital ng Tondo &#8211; 17 tests per day<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital &#8211; 15 tests per day<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Ospital ng Sampaloc -50 tests per day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The swab tests will be processed either by the DOH&#8217;s Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (DOH-RITM) or the UP Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Further, the said hospitals are authorized to send COVID-19 patients to the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, which was recently turned into a quarantine facility by the national government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Valenzuela City<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Valenzuela City has begun conducting its localized targeted mass testing on April 11. After a turnaround time of two days, The Medical City will forward the results to Valenzuela CESU.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Muntinlupa City<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Mass testing in Muntinlupa City has already started on April 13 with PUIs being first on the list. While waiting, those who were tested are recommended to stay in Hope II, one of the city\u2019s quarantine facilities, or undergo self-quarantine at home.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Para\u00f1aque City<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Para\u00f1aque City has begun its localized mass testing for COVID-19 on April 20.
