DOH also reported\u00a012 additional recoveries and 5<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">new mortalities resulting in a total of<\/span><b>\u00a096 recoveries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <strong>182<\/strong><\/span><b>\u00a0mortalities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/156566631021264\/posts\/3211679195509977\/<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><b>Quezon City\u2019s prototype COVID-19 swab test booth<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The local government of Quezon City has acquired a <\/span><b>prototype of the COVID-19 swab test booth<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> developed by engineers of Mapua University and USHER Technologies, which will be used for community testing in the city.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/858600454499344\/posts\/1099903033702417\/<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Led by the Dean of School of Civil, Environmental, and Geological Engineering Dr. Francis Aldrine Uy, the said prototype was based on the Korean testing booths equipped with negative pressure that prevents air from circulating, thus protecting health workers from getting infected.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A pair of swab testing booths will be designated in Quezon City General Hospital, Novaliches District Hospital, and Rosario Maclang Bautista General Hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><b>PH now has 11 COVID-19 laboratories<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">DOH confirmed that there are now <\/span><b>11 laboratories<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> accredited to conduct COVID-19 tests in the country. This increases the overall testing capacity now that mass testing is eyed to happen on April 14.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Adding to the list is The Medical City in Ortigas which was recently accredited. Rene Saguisag, the resumption of UAAP Season 82 \u201ccan no longer be met.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The league\u2019s collegiate events such as volleyball and basketball were canceled while baseball, softball, athletics, lawn tennis, and 3&#215;3 basketball did not have a game day this season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><b>Central Visayas records zero COVID-19 deaths for two days<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The DOH 7 (Central Visayas) recorded zero fatality related to COVID-19 for two consecutive days.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to DOH-7 situation report on April 7, the last two confirmed deaths were reported last Sunday which brought the total mortalities in the region to eight.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> A total of 132 specimens were tested from April 6 and 7 at\u00a0the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center Sub-National Laboratory and discovered one positive case among the specimens.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>Full-scale testing in Bicol\u00a0Public Health Laboratory<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The\u00a0<strong>Bicol Public Health Laboratory (BPHL)\u00a0<\/strong>is now on full-scale implementation of COVID-19 testing as they have been conducting Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction Test (RT-PCR) for the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This is one of DOH&#8217;s strategies to fight the threat of the virus by expanding testing capacities to flatten the curve.
