{"id":54159,"date":"2020-03-12T16:00:45","date_gmt":"2020-03-12T08:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/?p=54159"},"modified":"2022-05-26T09:34:58","modified_gmt":"2022-05-26T01:34:58","slug":"arroceros-park-declared-as-permanent-forest-park-by-manila-city-government","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/2020\/03\/12\/arroceros-park-declared-as-permanent-forest-park-by-manila-city-government\/","title":{"rendered":"Arroceros Park Declared as Permanent Forest Park by Manila City Government"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">After having faced various threats including being turned into a gymnasium and a residential area,<span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">\u00a0<strong>Arroceros Park<\/strong> is here to officially stay.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On March 3, 2020, Mayor Francisco \u201cIsko Moreno\u201d Domagoso of the Manila City government, declared\u00a0park deemed as the \u201clast lung of Manila\u201d as a permanent forest park under the\u00a0<strong>Ordinance No. 8607,<\/strong> as one of his platforms during his 2019 campaign for the mayoral elections in Manila.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The ordinance, which is pursuant to the\u00a0<strong>Republic Act No. 5752<\/strong>, states that the park shall receive continuous government funding for its further development, preservation, and maintenance. The Manila City government, following both the ordinance and the republic act, has allocated one million pesos for the expansion of the park.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">At the same time,\u00a0activities such as tree cutting, dumping of waste products and any form of excavation are strictly prohibited. Penalties are to be imposed on violators who disobey the park\u2019s rules.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">First offense &#8211; Php 2,500<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Second offense &#8211; Php 3,500<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Third offense &#8211; Php 5,000, the violator may be subject to imprisonment not exceeding one year depending on the discretion of the court<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Additionally, a designated committee for Arroceros Park will be established to maintain and manage the operations of the park. Peace officers will be stationed at different areas of the park to successfully regulate the imposed rules and issue penalties against any future violators.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/iskomorenodomagoso\/photos\/a.516236078445840\/2739134529489306\/?type=3&#038;theater<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">It was last <strong>August 30, 2019<\/strong>\u00a0when Mayor Domagoso publicly announced his plan of turning Manila into a green city.
