{"id":53390,"date":"2020-02-19T10:00:25","date_gmt":"2020-02-19T02:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/?p=53390"},"modified":"2020-02-19T14:21:47","modified_gmt":"2020-02-19T06:21:47","slug":"mmda-implements-traffic-adjustments-in-alabang-and-balintawak-for-skyway-constructions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/2020\/02\/19\/mmda-implements-traffic-adjustments-in-alabang-and-balintawak-for-skyway-constructions\/","title":{"rendered":"MMDA Implements Traffic Adjustments in Alabang and Balintawak for Skyway Constructions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">It looks like commuters and motorists have to pack some extra patience as they brave the road for the next few months!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The <strong>Metro Manila Development Authority<\/strong> (MMDA)\u00a0started implementing traffic adjustments in <strong>Alabang<\/strong> and <strong>EDSA Balintawak<\/strong> last February 14 to make way for the continuation of construction for Skyway Extension and Skyway Stage 3 Projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">According to an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/notes\/mmda\/traffic-adjustments-in-alabang-balintawak-on-valentine-weekend\/3022863667766506\/?__tn__=HH-R\" target=\"_blank\">announcement<\/a> published on MMDA&#8217;s official Facebook page, here are the adjustments to note:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Alabang<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-53405\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/02\/Runway-Toll-Plaza-A-1024x768-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/02\/Runway-Toll-Plaza-A-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/02\/Runway-Toll-Plaza-A-1024x768-290x218.jpg 290w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/02\/Runway-Toll-Plaza-A-1024x768-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/02\/Runway-Toll-Plaza-A-1024x768-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u2022 <strong>One-way traffic scheme <\/strong>implemented for:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Southbound vehicles in West Service Road of South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) from Alabang Hills to Alabang Zapote Road<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Northbound lane of Alabang temporary Steel Ramp from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. daily<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Skyway from Sucat Interchange to Alabang-Zapote Road and on Southbound lane of Alabang temporary Steel Ramp daily from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. of the following day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u2022 <strong>Skyway\u2013Hillsborough off-ramp<\/strong> will be <strong>closed to traffic and Class 2<\/strong> vehicles such as buses and <strong>delivery vans<\/strong> from Magallanes to Alabang <strong>are not allowed along the elevated Skyway<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">These adjustments are to give way to the construction of <strong>Skyway Extension from Hillsborough to Filinvest Exit<\/strong>, which will last for <strong>three months<\/strong>. In accordance with this,\u00a0MMDA advises affected vehicles northbound to take the Alabang viaduct at grade level.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Additionally, the Skyway Operations And Maintenance Corporation has provided\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/2020\/01\/28\/skyway-extension-project-resumes-construction-traffic-rerouting-to-be-implemented-on-feb-16\/\" target=\"_blank\">alternate routes<\/a>\u00a0to help the riding public avoid traffic jams.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Balintawak<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-53404\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/02\/balintawak-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/02\/balintawak.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/02\/balintawak-290x218.jpg 290w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/02\/balintawak-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/02\/balintawak-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><em><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">EDSA Balintawak\/ IMAGE Wiki Commons Media<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u2022 <strong>One lane closure<\/strong> will be implemented on <strong>EDSA Balintawak Northbound towards North Luzon Expressway <\/strong>(NLEX)\u00a0to give way to the erection of vertical bridge support under the EDSA Bridge as part of the Skyway Stage 3 project.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Light vehicles going to NLEX and Monumento may take the Balintawak Interchange ramp going to Cubao and take the U-turn slot after Cloverleaf Market going to NLEX.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u2022 <strong>Two lanes will be closed<\/strong> on <strong>EDSA Balintawak going to Cubao<\/strong> for the erection of interconnection flatform tower on top of EDSA Bridge.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Light vehicles coming from Monumento via EDSA before reaching Balintawak may turn right to A. de Jesus St. then left to C3 to destination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u2022 Girders will also be launched along <strong>A. Bonifacio<\/strong> where one lane going to NLEX will remain passable and two lanes for those going to Manila for eight nights from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on <strong>February 22 to 29<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Motorists are advised to take the following alternate routes:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;text-align: justify\">\n<li>Light vehicles going to NLEX and Monumento may take the Balintawak Interchange Ramp going to Cubao and take the U-turn slot after Cloverleaf Market going to NLEX.<\/li>\n<li>Light vehicles going to Novaliches and NLEX may take zipper lane at the left immediately before the construction site towards the destination.<\/li>\n<li>Light vehicles from NLEX (going to Manila\/Caloocan) may take the Balintawak Interchange Ramp going to Monumento via EDSA then left to A.
