The dungeon is accessible to those who purchase the Fort Santiago entrance fee. The ticket costs Php 75<\/strong> for adults and Php50<\/strong> for students, seniors, and PWDs.<\/p>\n

Fort Santiago was built between 1589 and 1592, known for being the headquarters of several foreign powers in Philippine history such as the Spanish, the British, the Americans, and the Japanese.<\/p>\n

In 1896, the country’s national hero was detained at the fort’s dungeon before his execution in Luneta Park. Here, he penned his notable poem, Mi Ultimo Adios<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>or “My Final Farewell.”<\/p>\n
