ban<\/strong> on tourists coming from\u00a0any part of\u00a0<strong>China<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0its\u00a0Special Administrative Regions\u2014<strong>Hong Kong and Macau<\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>amid\u00a0the rise of Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) acute respiratory disease cases worldwide.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" justify\">In a statement released by Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo\u00a0on February 2, the president&#8217;s decision to extend the travel ban&#8217;s coverage is brought upon the recommendation of the\u00a0Inter-agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On January 31, Duterte first issued\u00a0the temporary travel ban that only prohibited visitors from Wuhan City and the entirety of Hubei province in China\u2014the ground zero of the newly-emerged deadly virus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The extended temporary travel ban covers <strong>all visitors coming from any part of China, Hong Kong, and Macau,\u00a0regardless of nationality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This directive <strong>exempts\u00a0Filipino citizens and holders of Permanent Resident Visa<\/strong> issued by the Philippine government who within 14 days immediately preceding arrival in the Philippines, has been to the aforementioned places.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-52788\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/02\/Airport01-IMG20200131140342Philippine-Primer.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"712\" height=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The said ban, however, requires\u00a0Filipinos and Permanent Resident Visa holders coming from any place in China and its Special Administrative Regions\u00a0to\u00a0undergo a <strong>mandatory 14-day quarantine<\/strong>.\u00a0Filipinos are also banned indefinitely from traveling to\u00a0said places.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Aside from the temporary travel ban,\u00a0the Philippine Foreign Service Posts also <strong>temporarily suspends the\u00a0issuance of visas to foreign nationals<\/strong> directly coming\u00a0from and has been to China, Hong Kong, and Macau effective style=\"text-align: justify\">Following the travel ban, the Civil Aeronautics Board ordered all airlines\u00a0operating to and from the Philippines to fully and immediately comply with the president&#8217;s directive.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Cebu Pacific<\/strong> and <strong>AirAsia Philippines<\/strong> have announced the cancellation of flights to China, Hong Kong, and Macau until March, while\u00a0<strong>Philippine Airlines<\/strong>\u00a0reduced\u00a0flights between Manila and China to over 50 percent starting February 1.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: which\u00a0causes mild symptoms\u00a0such as runny nose, sore throat, cough, fever, and\u00a0breathing difficulties.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The World Health Organization (WHO) declared\u00a0the outbreak a\u00a0\u201cpublic health emergency of international concern\u201d on January 30.
