Through <strong>Nikkei Veinte\/Veinte<\/strong>, Nikkei celebrates the dawn of a new decade with new dishes with a wine buffet and premium sake pairings!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Manila&#8217;s top restaurant for Peruvian-Japanese cuisine launches new dishes in partnership with Philippine Wine Merchants (PWM) and Mida Food. We were grateful to be invited to\u00a0a dinner to launch\u00a0their inspired new bites\u00a0by <strong>Chefs Jan Barcos and Christian Cejas<\/strong> paired with premium sake.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The first dish, <strong>Yellow Tiradito<\/strong>, is a thinly sliced white fish topped with a <em>chalaquita<\/em>, a Peruvian salsa. This neutral fish works well with the tangy yellow sauce and the sweet potato strings for texture. This sweet and soft salmon is textured with a drizzle of crunchy fried nori and elegantly paired with the fresh and bright <strong>Hakushika Ginjo Namachozo<\/strong> sake.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-52564\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/Nikkei-Veinte-Veinte-Philippine-Primer-8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"534\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/Nikkei-Veinte-Veinte-Philippine-Primer-8.jpg 534w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/Nikkei-Veinte-Veinte-Philippine-Primer-8-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 534px) 100vw, 534px\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em>The salmon nigiri lightly dipped in soy, coupled\u00a0by the Ginjo Naamchozo was one of the best pairings of the night.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The same sake is paired with the beautifully torched <strong>Smoked Ebi Nigiri<\/strong>. This hot nigiri was made with a giant prawn on a bed of rice topped with spicy mayo and cured by a classic Peruvian spicy marinade <em>leche de tigre<\/em> before being torched!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-52562\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/Nikkei-Veinte-Veinte-Philippine-Primer-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/Nikkei-Veinte-Veinte-Philippine-Primer-6.jpg 800w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/Nikkei-Veinte-Veinte-Philippine-Primer-6-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/Nikkei-Veinte-Veinte-Philippine-Primer-6-768x513.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em>With much heat on the mouth, the crisp\u00a0Ginjo Naamchozo plays well to keep the taste fresh and tasteful.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The next dish is not as equally spicy but the heat of the <strong>Ceviche Wasabi<\/strong> builds up and reaches the back of your head in its heat. It is paired with the mellow and refreshing<strong>\u00a0Gekkeikan Kome To Mizu Junmai<\/strong> sake for a balance of flavors and heat!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-52561\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/Nikkei-Veinte-Veinte-Philippine-Primer-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/Nikkei-Veinte-Veinte-Philippine-Primer-5.jpg 800w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/Nikkei-Veinte-Veinte-Philippine-Primer-5-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/Nikkei-Veinte-Veinte-Philippine-Primer-5-768x513.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em>Refreshed with flavors of pistachio, cilantro, and the\u00a0Gekkeikan Kome To Mizu Junmai\u00a0sake, the spicy white fish ceviche jumps\u00a0to be a crowd\u00a0favorite.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On to the heavier dishes, we start with a crunchy <strong>Potato Wrapped Prawn<\/strong> on a bed of tangy lite foam and dipped in tart ponzu sauce. The fruity notes and creamy body of the\u00a0<strong>Gekkeikan Horin Junmai Daiginjo<\/strong> sake bring out the bright and fun flavors of the\u00a0fried potato prawn.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-52565\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/Nikkei-Veinte-Veinte-Philippine-Primer-9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"534\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/Nikkei-Veinte-Veinte-Philippine-Primer-9.jpg 534w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/Nikkei-Veinte-Veinte-Philippine-Primer-9-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 534px) 100vw, 534px\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em>Many can&#8217;t wait to see\u00a0this delicious Potato Wrapped Prawn on the regular menu!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">With some heftiness to it, the <strong>Skirt Temaki<\/strong> is made with\u00a0beef hanging tender, sushi rice, and candied garlic which brightens up each bite.
