{"id":52407,"date":"2020-01-21T18:00:28","date_gmt":"2020-01-21T10:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/?p=52407"},"modified":"2022-05-31T09:28:03","modified_gmt":"2022-05-31T01:28:03","slug":"ph-issues-30-day-visa-upon-arrival-for-chinese-tourists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/2020\/01\/21\/ph-issues-30-day-visa-upon-arrival-for-chinese-tourists\/","title":{"rendered":"PH Issues 30-Day Visa Upon Arrival For Chinese Tourists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">UPDATE:\u00a0The Philippine Immigration Bureau ordered the temporary suspension of\u00a0&#8220;visa upon arrival&#8221; or VUA issuance to Chinese nationals amid the spread of the deadly novel coronavirus worldwide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Philippine Government limits the <strong>Temporary Visitors-Visa Upon Arrival (TV-VUA)<\/strong> for the nationals of the <strong>People&#8217;s Republic of China (PROC)<\/strong> to <strong>30 days<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Despite the TV-VUA&#8217;s economic benefits for the country through tourism arrivals, the <strong>Department of Justice (DOJ)<\/strong> also sees it as a risk relating to the visa&#8217;s misuse most especially by the nationals who want to &#8220;ultimately obtain&#8221; work here in the Philippines.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-52409\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/watermark-template-1024x683-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/watermark-template-1024x683-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/watermark-template-1024x683-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2020\/01\/watermark-template-1024x683-1-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">They also believe that the promotion of tourism must be balanced with other public interests. This includes a guaranteed work preference for Filipinos.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>Eligibility and Qualifications<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This TV-VUA can only be availed by the qualified nationals of the People&#8217;s Republic of China who will\u00a0come to the Philippines for a temporary or short stay including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Foreign investors and businessmen endorsed by the <strong>Board of Investments (BOI)<\/strong>, <strong>Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA)<\/strong>, <strong>Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA)<\/strong>, <strong>Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA)<\/strong>, <strong>Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Local business councils<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Local and foreign chambers of commerce and industry<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Athletes and delegates to sports competitions, conventions, and exhibitions<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Delegates and participants, resource speakers as well as\u00a0organizers and sponsors of international conventions, symposia, and conferences held in the Philippines<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Members of a tour group organized by tour operators accredited by the <strong>Bureau of Immigration (Bl)<\/strong> and <strong>Department of Tourism (DOT)\u00a0<\/strong>are also welcome.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Meanwhile, nationals included in the <strong>BI<\/strong>\u00a0Blacklist or the subject of an existing <strong>Interpol Red Notice <\/strong>or other<strong> Intelligence Advisory<\/strong> received by the Bl are not qualified to avail for the TV-VUA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"> Effectivity and Restrictions<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A TV-VUA is only\u00a0effective for a maximum authorized stay of 30 days from the applicant&#8217;s date of arrival in the Philippines. This shall automatically expire by the end of the given period of stay or even before the end of the period itself once the TV-VUA&#8217;s holder has already departed the Philippines. Extension or renewal of TV-VUA is not allowed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In relation to this,\u00a0a holder of TV-VUA is also not qualified\u00a0to apply\u00a0for any other visa\u00a0or to change the status to any other nonimmigrant or immigrant status without first departing from the Philippines. They are also not qualified to any permit, including work or study permits, issued by the Bl or the Department of Labor and Employment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"> Documentary Requirements<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Letter request or letter endorsement addressed to the Immigration Commissioner from a BI and DOT-accredited Philippine tour operator, relevant authority or event sponsor<\/li>\n<li>Three copies of the biographical page of the applicant&#8217;s valid passport<\/li>\n<li>The applicant&#8217;s flight details (inbound and outbound), and proof of booked accommodations while in the Philippines<\/li>\n<li>If a member of a tour in the country,\u00a0Affidavit of Undertaking of the president or general manager of the DOT and BI- accredited tour operator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Ports of Admission<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Airports<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA)<\/li>\n<li>Clark International Airport (CIA)<\/li>\n<li>Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA)<\/li>\n<li>Kalibo International Airport (KIA)<\/li>\n<li>Davao International Airport<\/li>\n<li>Cagayan North International Airport\/Lal-lo Cagayan Airport (CNIA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Seaports<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Manita<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Puerto Princesa, Palawan<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Subic<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Laoag<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Caticlan<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Port Irene, Sta.
