The\u00a0Investment Coordination Committee\u2013Cabinet Committee (ICC-CabCom) <\/strong>of The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board<\/strong>\u00a0recommended\u00a012 projects<\/strong>\u00a0for approval by the NEDA Board last December 20, 2019.<\/p>\n

Three\u00a0of which are projects implemented by the\u00a0Department of Transportation\u2014<\/strong>including the\u00a0MRT-4 Project<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The MRT-4 Project<\/strong> also called the\u00a0Line 4 Project<\/strong> is a 15.56km long elevated monorail transit system\u00a0which will have\u00a011 proposed stations. The project aims to help reduce travel time, improve mobility and, make Metro Manila and the Rizal Province more accessible to each other.<\/p>\n

\"\"The MRT is one of Manila’s widely used modes of transportation<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The proposed route of the MRT-4 will begin at the N. Domingo Station in Quezon City and will end at the Taytay Diversion Road (R-5)-Manila East Road rotunda in Taytay, Rizal.<\/p>\n

It will also run along Ortigas Avenue, Ortigas Avenue Extension, and the Taytay Diversion Road. The route will have a detour at Frontera Drive, Tiendesitas’ Las Fiestas Road before returning to Ortigas Avenue Extension.<\/p>\n

\u201cConsidering how densely-populated these areas are, which is made more difficult with the lack of road capacities and ever worsening traffic conditions, MRT-4 will be of great help in moving commuters between eastern Metro Manila and Rizal,\u201d Secretary Tugade said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Funded by the Asian Development Bank, the project is expected to start construction in 2021 and is set to be operational by 2025.<\/p>\n

\"\"It is hoped that MRT-4 will be able to\u00a0reduce travel time and improve mobility<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The MRT-4 will be the sixth metro line for Manila including the three current LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3\u00a0metro lines, and the MRT-7 and the Metro Manila Subway Project that are still under construction.<\/p>\n

At present, the MRT-7 has begun its construction while the Metro Manila Subway Project recently had its\u00a0clearing operations at the Valenzuela Depot where its\u00a0East Valenzuela Station will rise.<\/p>\n
