Commuting in Metro Manila has always been a challenge due to traffic and other transportation woes.\u00a0Thankfully, the Department of Transportation (DOTr)<\/strong> is thinking of new projects that will greatly contribute to the betterment of the transportation system in the country.<\/p>\n

One of which is the MRT-LRT Common Station<\/strong>.\u00a0DOTr\u00a0stated that the project’s\u00a0Area B<\/strong> is presently 96% complete<\/strong>, in collaboration with Ayala Land Inc. (ALI).<\/strong><\/p>\n

After nine years, Secretary Arthur Tugade of DOTr, as well as DOTr officials, had an inspection of the in-progress construction of MRT-LRT Common Station located at North Edsa last December 17. The DOTr secretary wanted to examine the improvement of the project before the year ends.<\/p>\n

The MRT-LRT<\/strong>\u00a0Common Station<\/strong> features a\u00a013,700-square meter hall area<\/strong> that will link LRT-1, MRT-3, MRT-7, <\/strong>and the Metro Manila Subway<\/strong>. The said station is presumed to serve an estimated number of 478,000 commuters per day once it starts operating in 2021.<\/p>\n

Apart from that, the new space highlights the aesthetically-designed high ceilings and wide concourse area, which is extensive enough to accommodate a large number of commuters daily.<\/p>\n

According to DOTr, Area C was awarded to San Miguel Corp, which will serve as platforms for LRT-1 and MRT-3 while the government awarded Area A to BF Corporation in which the platforms for LRT 1 and MRT 3 are located, which is scheduled to operate in 2020.<\/p>\n
