In an effort to combat Manila\u2019s horrible traffic system, Uber Technologies Inc. brings their new carpooling service called uberHOP to Manila.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through uberHOP, Uber aims to make a gradual change to help Manila traffic by introducing carpooling which makes use of a large vehicle that can accommodate five riders on board. In Uber\u2019s website, it stated that \u201cinnovative solutions like uberHOP, put more passengers in fewer cars \u2013 safely, reliably and affordable \u2013 which help move us towards a brighter, cleaner and less gridlocked future.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Uber, it the carpooling service will help Uber users save more as they can split the cost among the passengers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Compared to other Uber rides, uberHOP will be different as it will require you to walk to a suggested meeting spot at a scheduled time. The app will be suggesting the drop-off point for the people who will be travelling at the same direction.<\/span><\/p>\n

What you need to know more about the uberHOP is it will only accommodate one person per request, so if you have companions to share the ride with, they would have to book separately.<\/span><\/p>\n

The uberHOP driver will not wait for late passengers, and passengers will not be allowed to make alternative arrangements with the driver. Also, passengers are discouraged to cancel trips so as not to cause any inconvenience for the other passengers and the driver as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

For its pilot test, uberHOP will have a P75 flat rate per ride which will be available for people travelling between Makati and BGC. uberHOP will be available during weekdays at 6:00 am to 10:00 am and between 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.<\/span><\/p>\n

With this new Uber innovation, it can help more people ride with convenience without the expense of adding more cars that will only worsen Manila traffic.<\/span><\/p>\n
