Mitsubishi Motors PCorporation CEO Osamu Masuko announced in the press briefing that there will be employment opportunities for Filipinos through their participation in CARS program.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">In a press briefing held regarding the Car Manufacturing Operations in the Philippines, MMC CEO Osamu Masuko expressed his determination to participate in the PH government\u2019s CARS program. The Comprehensive Automotive Resurgence Strategy (CARS) program allows the automotive industry of the country to be competitive in ASEAN. With this program, the country\u2019s auto industry will be able to create employment opportunities in the six-year program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">According to Mr. Henry Co of the Board of Investments, the time has come for PH to be participative in the ASEAN motor industry through its growing manufacturing capability. \u201cIt\u2019s not just about trying to build a car, [but it is also because] of the capability to build jobs,\u201d Co said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Also, according to Masuko, this investment will not only contribute to the economic growth of the Philippines, but also to the expansion of employment since many parts suppliers will also be able to make new investments in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">\u201cThe Philippines is blessed with high quality of labor force, English ability indispensable for communication, and strong CARS program,\u201d Masuko added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">In the first phase of the program, it is estimated to generate 700 new jobs.
