The anticipated national art fair ManilART<\/b>\u00a0is here again to introduce the country’s rich story expressed through visual arts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the\u00a0press conference held last September 20<\/b>,\u00a0<\/b>ManilART discussed that this year will highlight on \u201cShowcasing the Global Filipino Artist,\u201d <\/b>aligned with the National Commission for Culture and Arts 2019 theme for Museums and Galleries Month, \u201cBuilding a Nation, One Exhibit at a Time.\u201d<\/p>\n

The press conference was attended by individuals from different media companies. It was initiated with the opening remarks\u00a0from Fort Bonifacio Chairman George Bocobo, <\/b>mentioning that Taguig has been part of the art fair for\u00a0seven years\u00a0now.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Head of NCCA\u2019s Cultural Heritage Section Lawrence Charles Salazar,<\/b>\u00a0meanwhile, shared the cultural activities for the museum and galleries. These include\u00a0regional art fairs in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao\u00a0to promote the country’s rich culture.<\/p>\n

They are also holding MindanaoArt<\/strong>, encouraging artists from Mindanao to develop a brand of their own art fair.<\/p>\n

Further, Salazar pointed out the art fair’s vital role to the youth.\u00a0“I’d like to underscore the importance of having art fairs especially in the light of education. It provides learning opportunity to the students and I’m so much delighted that ManilART expanded towards providing opportunities to the public,” he explained.<\/p>\n

The program ended with a comprehensive talk from\u00a0ManilART Fair Director\u00a0Tess Rayos Del Sol,<\/b>\u00a0elaborating this year\u2019s curated activities.<\/p>\n

Activities to look forward\u00a0in ManilART 2019<\/h3>\n

Public school students will get a chance to have a free walking tour<\/strong> with the help of the ManilART team, while teachers will have a seminar by Prof. Gerry Leonardo<\/strong> of Philippine High School for the Arts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ManilART, in coordination with <\/span>Manila Bulletin, also aims to serve humanity. Hence, they are hosting the <\/span>Art of Red, <\/b>a yearly fundraising event of the Philippine Red Cross<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, ManilART collaborated with Zonta Club Women’s Group\u00a0<\/strong>to host\u00a0a film screening of Patay Na Si Jesus (2016), <\/strong>including\u00a0a\u00a0Q&A session with its screenwriter and producer, Moira Lang<\/strong>. The film will be in Cebuano language for people to appreciate the diverse Philippine language.<\/p>\n

The government body also contributed to this annual celebration as the Subcommission on Cultural Heritage of the NCCA<\/strong> will conduct a Heritage Night<\/strong> with different cultural institutions involved in celebrating Museums and Galleries Month.<\/p>\n

For photography enthusiasts, expect a talk by Nikon Ambassadors<\/strong>\u00a0with an aim of teaching the youth new techniques and tactics in the photography field.<\/p>\n

Of course, you will also witness the amazing talent of notable Filipinos by watching performances and sketching sessions of renowned visual artists.<\/p>\n

Finally, the art fair will feature artworks created by 13 prominent Filipino artists\u00a0namely\u00a0Ramon Orlina, Romula Galicano, Susanito Sarnate, Anthony Palomo, Marge Organo, Kenneth Montegrande, Kublai Millan, Agi Pagkatipunan, Danny Rayos Del Sol, Riza Muyot, JP Pining, <\/strong>and Wilfredo Offemaria.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Make sure to catch Filipino\u2019s best artworks in the upcoming ManilART 2019, which will run from<\/span> October 9 to 13<\/b>\u00a0at the\u00a0<\/span>SMX Convention Center, SM Aura Premier, Taguig City<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
