The Philippines is home to a variety of tourist destinations, from the greenest lands to the most crystal clear waters. And recently, President Rodrigo Duterte enacted a series of laws citing\u00a0four new travel destinations in the country.<\/p>\n

By virtue of Republic Act (R.A.) 11409, Pinsal Falls<\/strong>—locally dubbed as Twin Falls of Ilocos Sur—is officially a tourist destination. Not only does it boast of an 85-foot waterfall parted into two, but it also takes pride in the naturally made mini-pools situated at the top.<\/p>\n

Also from Ilocos Sur, R.A. 11408 declared Santiago Cove<\/strong> as a tourist spot.\u00a0 Known as Sabangan Cove and Boracay of Ilocos Sur, it features a stretch of white sand and serene waters.\u00a0 Candon City Ecotourism Zone<\/strong> stands as the third newly declared tourist destination of the province, in effect of R.A. 11407.<\/p>\n

Not far behind in terms of tourism is the province of Nueva Ecija as R.A. 11406 also hailed one of its mountain ranges, Mount Bulaylay<\/strong> in Cuyapo, as a tourist destination. Mount Bulaylay is home to the longest and tallest zip line of the province.<\/p>\n

Through a tourism development plan, the\u00a0four destinations will be in the care of the Department of Tourism (DOT),\u00a0in coordination with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and other amenable agencies.<\/p>\n

This involves construction, installation, and maintenance of appropriate facilities and infrastructures bound to generally improve the areas. Funding is included in the annual General Appropriations Act.<\/p>\n

Duterte signed the laws last August 22, but copies of the documents were only disclosed to the press August 29.<\/p>\n
