{"id":46165,"date":"2019-07-16T10:00:50","date_gmt":"2019-07-16T02:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/?p=46165"},"modified":"2019-07-16T17:13:29","modified_gmt":"2019-07-16T09:13:29","slug":"students-can-now-avail-20-discount-on-puvs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/2019\/07\/16\/students-can-now-avail-20-discount-on-puvs\/","title":{"rendered":"Students Can Now Avail 20% Discount on PUVs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Time to save a portion of your allowance as the <strong>Student Fare Discount Act<\/strong> has officially been signed into law.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Under <strong>Republic Act 11314<\/strong> or the Student Fare Discount Act, <strong>elementary, high school, tertiary, and technical-vocational students<\/strong> are entitled to a <strong>20% discount<\/strong> on fares on all public utility vehicles (PUVs).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Also read:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/tips-guides\/2018\/11\/05\/the-expats-ultimate-guide-to-public-transportation-in-the-philippines\/\">The Expats\u2019 Ultimate Guide to Public Transportation in the Philippines<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-46166\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/07\/jeepney.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This includes domestic regular fares on <strong>public jeepneys, public buses, UV express vans, taxis, Transportation Network Vehicle Service (TNVS)<\/strong> units like Grab, MRT, LRT, PNR, marine vessels, and even aircraft.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Qualified students\u00a0have to present their <strong>valid school IDs<\/strong> or their validated enrollment forms to avail the discount, which is valid during the entire time they are enrolled\u2014including weekends and holidays.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-45451\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/07\/skyjet.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/07\/skyjet.jpg 800w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/07\/skyjet-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/07\/skyjet-768x513.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">However, the law does not cover school services, tourist services, and any other similar services under a contract.
