to Resume Voter Registration This August"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Approximately\u00a0two million new voters are expected as the<strong> Commission on Elections (Comelec)<\/strong> reopens registration from <strong>August 1 to September 30, 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Local Offices of the Election Officers (OEOs) will be accepting new voter registrations for two months, including Saturdays and holidays.<\/p>\n<p>The upcoming election is for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) position scheduled on the second Monday of May 2020.<\/p>\n<p><em>Also read: <a automatically transferred to the regular list of voters when they turn 18.<\/p>\n<p>In the Philippines, an applicant must be the following to register as a voter:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Filipino citizen<\/li>\n<li>18 years old on or before Election Day<\/li>\n<li>A resident of the Philippines for at least 1 year<\/li>\n<li>A resident of the city\/barangay where you intend to vote for at least Record<\/li>\n<li>Change of name due to marriage or court order<\/li>\n<li>Correction of entries in Voter Registration Record<\/li>\n<li>Name reinstatement in the List of Voters<\/li>\n<li>Inclusion
