In commemoration of the long history of friendship of the Philippines and Spain, La Camara<\/strong> held a luncheon last June 17, 2019 to celebrate\u00a0and further\u00a0tighten the ties between\u00a0the two countries.<\/p>\n

The lunch brought everyone to a trip down memory lane as they share a glimpse of history when the countries’ friendship started\u00a0on July 1, 1898 at the church of Baler.<\/p>\n

As Baler celebrates this momentous event for the 17th time (in accordance to Republic Act No. 9187),<\/em> this year will also mark the town’s 120th Anniversary simultaneous with La Camara’s 120th Anniversary.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the luncheon also\u00a0discussed\u00a0strengthening the Bilateral ties of the two countries. Honorable Joey Leviste, Chairman of the Philippine-Spanish Busines Council, welcomed guests, followed by His Excellency Jorge Moragas, Spanish Ambassador to the Philippines, who gave a keynote address and discussed Bilateral trade relations of Spain.<\/p>\n

Ending the discussion,\u00a0Ms. Agnes Legaspi, the Assistant Director of the Export Marketing Bureau of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) gave a briefing on Philippine-Spanish economic relations highlighting the growing bilateral trade of the Philippines as well as the ranking, trade performance, and opportunities in the future.<\/p>\n
