It recounts\u00a0the true story of an ordinary mailman, Ferdinand Cheval, who devotes 33 years of his life to build a castle for his daughter.<\/p>\n<p>The movie starts in Southeastern France in\u00a0Dr\u00f4me, where Ferdinand Cheval (Jacques Gamblin) worked as a rural postman in the 1870&#8217;s traveling to towns miles apart by\u00a0foot. Following the tragedies of his early life, he\u00a0is inspired to create a palace for his daughter.<\/p>\n<p>With this in mind, he picks up pebbles during his rounds and sets aside 10 hours a day to build the\u00a0<em>Le Palais id\u00e9al<\/em>\u00a0(the &#8220;Ideal Palace&#8221;) in 1879.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-44616\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/06\/The-Ideal-Palace-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em>IMAGE from Embassy of France to the Philippines<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the words of H.E. Ambassador Nicolas Galey of the French Embassy, &#8220;French films explore the depths of human relationships and the importance of family.&#8221; We were told not to expect action or superheroes but instead a real man. The\u00a0biopic told us of the simplicity of\u00a0facing the ordeals of life with passion and selflessness.<\/p>\n<p>Despite being faced with personal tragedies and biases from other villagers, Cheval had the spirit to keep devoting his\u00a0time to a passion project for his family.
