Traveling to northern Luzon will soon be faster and easier as NLEX Corporation announced last May 15 the construction of 20\u00a0new toll lanes<\/strong> in Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX)<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The toll expansion project is set to start construction in July and is expected to be completed in\u00a0November. It will cover the areas of Clark North, Clark South, San Miguel, Bamban, and Tarlac toll plazas. The project aims to boost toll transactions and ease traffic volume along SCTEX not only in daily operations but also during peak hours.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe new lanes aim to enable speedy toll transactions even during peak hours and holidays when traffic volume on the expressway rises sharply,\u201d said NLEX Corporation President and General Manager Luigi Bautista.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each toll lane in Clark North Entry & Exit and Clark South B Exit will have\u00a0one new lane, and two new lanes\u00a0for each Clark South A Exit and Tarlac Entry & Exit. This is to easily serve motorists who are traveling in the said areas.<\/span><\/p>\n

The northbound entry and southbound exit of San Miguel will have two new lanes, while another lane will be\u00a0added to northbound exit.\u00a0According to NLEX Corporation, it will also be transformed into a full interchange lane with complete exit and entry points from north and south directions to open more access to motorists\u00a0arriving and exiting\u00a0San Miguel.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bamban Interchange\u2014which will soon open, will be provided with three entry and exit lanes to create a direct\u00a0route\u00a0to New Clark City where the Southeast Asian Games 2019 will be held.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe additional toll lanes will help improve SCTEX’s connectivity in its areas, particularly in Clark, which is being positioned as Asia’s next metropolis and investment center,\u201d Bautista added.<\/span><\/p>\n

SCTEX is the country\u2019s longest expressway at 94 kilometers.<\/span><\/p>\n
