In charge of planning the perfect holiday getaway in the family? This coming 2016, you might want to mark your calendars for the long weekends. By virtue of Proclamation No. 1105 signed by President Benigno Aquino III, there will be six long weekends, with holidays falling either on a Monday or Friday. Holidays are categorized into regular holidays (fixed dates) and special non-working days.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the Official Gazette, the following dates are the holidays for 2016:<\/span><\/p>\n

January 1 \u2013 New Year\u2019s Day<\/span><\/p>\n

January 2 \u2013 Additional non-working holiday<\/span><\/p>\n

February 8 \u2013 Chinese New Year<\/span><\/p>\n

February 25 \u2013 EDSA People Power Revolution<\/span><\/p>\n

March 24 \u2013 Maundy Thursday<\/span><\/p>\n

March 25 \u2013 Good Friday<\/span><\/p>\n

March 26 \u2013 Black Saturday<\/span><\/p>\n

April 9 \u2013 Araw ng Kagitingan<\/span><\/p>\n

May 1 \u2013 Labor Day<\/span><\/p>\n

June 12 \u2013 Independence Day<\/span><\/p>\n

August 21 \u2013 Ninoy Aquino Day<\/span><\/p>\n

August 29 \u2013 National Heroes Day<\/span><\/p>\n

October 31 \u2013 Additional special non-working day<\/span><\/p>\n

November 1 \u2013 All Saints Day<\/span><\/p>\n

November 30 \u2013 Bonifacio Day<\/span><\/p>\n

December 24 \u2013 Additional special non-working day<\/span><\/p>\n

December 25 \u2013 Christmas Day<\/span><\/p>\n

December 30 \u2013 Rizal Day<\/span><\/p>\n

December 31 \u2013 Additional special non-working day<\/span><\/p>\n

If not in a holiday mood, employees can work on certain dates and earn double during regular holidays and a daily rate multiplied by 1.3 on special non-working days.<\/span><\/p>\n
