The new era is set to start on May 1, when Crown Prince Naruhito rises to Chrysanthemum Throne. This puts an end to Japan\u2019s current era, \u201cHeisei,\u201d which started in 1989.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-41700\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/04\/106250427_japanera.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"754\" height=\"425\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em>Reiwa, Japan&#8217;s new era starting May 1\/IMAGE by <\/em><em>Reuters;<\/em><em> grabbed from BBC website<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In Japan, a change of era signifies a new emperor to reign. In the past eras, emperors reigned until their demise.
