Eastern Metro Manila will experience water interruptions<\/strong> according to water concessionaire Manila Water. Schedules are being announced and updated daily through the company’s Facebook Page<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The East Zone water concessionaire,\u00a0Manila Water, reminds customers to stock up on water before the scheduled interruption. Their statement includes that water pressure will be lower than normal and that the shortage\u00a0may continue for months.<\/p>\n

Below is the announced schedule of Manila Water interruptions in the cities of Makati and Taguig daily starting March 14, 2019,<\/strong> until further notice.<\/p>\n

On March 8, Manila Water cited ‘continued decline in the water level at La Mesa Dam’ as the cause for the low pressure and water interruptions.\u00a0Manila Water will be prioritizing supply to hospitals and schools but will deploy tankers to deliver water to households and commercial establishments.<\/p>\n

The country is currently experiencing a weak El Ni\u00f1o until the month of May according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).\u00a0El Ni\u00f1o is characterized by unusually warm ocean surface temperatures in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific.<\/p>\n

West Zone concessionaire, Maynilad Water Services will be giving an additional supply of water to Manila Water during the weal El Ni\u00f1o. PAGASA forecasts rain may return in May, while rainfall is expected to become near normal from June to August.<\/p>\n
