Japan\u2019s leading payment card issuer and acquirer JCB International Co., Ltd. (JCB)<\/strong>\u00a0allies with local commercial bank Robinsons Bank Corporation<\/strong> to further JCB\u2019s reach in the Philippines.<\/span><\/p>\n

All JCB cardholders, both in the Philippines and overseas, can now use their cards to avail services from establishments accredited by Robinsons Bank—thanks to the new partnership signed today, March 4.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The ceremony was attended by the top management of the two companies. JCB was headed by President and COO Kimihisa Imada, joined with current Country Head Mikihisa Asano and incoming Country Head Yusuke Matsui.<\/p>\n

Robinsons Bank, on the other hand, was represented by Chairman Lance Gokongwei, President and CEO Elfren Sarte, Consumer & Regional Banking Segment Head Eric Santos, and Cards Business Group Head Maire Dadufalza-Viola.<\/p>\n

The collaboration of the two companies not only aims to widen JCB’s coverage in the country but also to enhance and continually improve the customer experience of the cardholders at the same time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are confident that this alliance will benefit customers in the Philippines and overseas, as we offer more avenues of efficient and competitive financial services to provide the best experience,\u201d Sarte said in a press release.<\/span><\/p>\n

Further, JCB cardmembers can expect to be able to transact with more retail outlets this year, including local budget airline Cebu Pacific.<\/span><\/p>\n

From the same statement, Kimihisa Imada said that the Philippines remains to be one of the company\u2019s most important markets in terms of expansion. He also hopes for more partnerships with Robinsons Bank in the future. <\/span><\/p>\n
