Japan Airlines (JAL) <\/strong>has\u00a0finally launched their newest route,\u00a0offering daily flights from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Manila) to Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) and vice versa<\/strong> starting\u00a0February 1, 2019.<\/p>\n

The launch of the Manila-Haneda route at the NAIA Terminal 1 was attended by distinguished guests from JAL, as well as from the\u00a0Embassy of Japan to Manila.<\/p>\n

At the launch, JAL Managing Executive Officer Tetsuya Onuki\u00a0stated that the airline company will continue to provide better service to its customers, despite already earning a five-star rating in 2018, as awarded by airline review and ranking site Skytrax.<\/p>\n

Minister of the Economic Affairs of the Embassy of Japan Makoto Iyori, also graced the event and has briefly mentioned the tourism growth JAL has contributed to both countries, since its operations in the Philippines.<\/p>\n

“The number of Japanese tourists going to the Philippines\u00a0has reached approximately 600,000 last year. This service (Manila-Haneda route) will make it easier to use the domestic flights of Haneda Airport,” said Iyori.<\/p>\n

“I hope that this new route will be used by both Japan and the Philippines\u00a0to build friendly relations,” he added.<\/p>\n

In addition to JAL’s two Manila – Narita flights, they added the Manila – Haneda flight which began\u00a0on February 1, 2019, making a total of three flights per day.<\/p>\n

The Manila-Haneda<\/strong> flight will depart from\u00a0Manila at 11:50 p.m.<\/strong> and will arrive Haneda at 4:55 a.m.<\/strong>, with flight number JL78.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Haneda-Manila<\/strong> flight will depart at 12:05 a.m.<\/strong> and will arrive Manila at 3:55 a.m.<\/strong>, with flight number JL77.<\/p>\n

Both routes will use the Boeing 737-800.\u00a0Counters\u00a08 to 13<\/strong> will be serving the said midnight flight until March 31, 2019.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Filipino tourists visiting Japan increased to up to\u00a0500,000 in 2018,\u00a0following the relaxation of Japanese visa policies in 2013.<\/p>\n

JAL’s new service will hopefully\u00a0accommodate more travelers in and out of the country, as these red-eye flights allow\u00a0both Filipino and Japanese business and leisure travelers to maximize their travel time in\u00a0both countries.<\/p>\n
