The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP)<\/strong> caps off another successful year with a year-end press conference and media appreciation luncheon at Dusit Thani Manila<\/strong> last December 11, Tuesday<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

BCCP Executive Chairman Chris Nelson<\/strong> highlights the organization\u2019s achievements this 2018. One of these is their Overseas Partner Delivery (OPD)<\/strong> where they assisted over 2,000 British companies through contact referrals, research, and introduction to the Philippine market, and their trade mission.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s trade mission<\/strong> took place in Iloilo and was attended by 150 delegates, making it BCCP\u2019s largest trade mission to date. The organization\u2019s trade missions support the government\u2019s 10-point socioeconomic plan, especially in promoting regional investment.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, BCCP also held a Philippine Economic Briefing<\/strong> with 250 business leaders from UK\u2019s top companies in London which was followed by a roundtable discussion with Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez. The discussion was organized together with UK-ASEAN Business Council (UK-ABC) and was attended by 20 companies. <\/span><\/p>\n

The organization also took part in Britain in Southeast Asia (BiSEA) Roadshows<\/strong> held in United Kingdom (UK) where they met with 165 British companies. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>We build up all our work by doing roadshows in the UK. We go across all various cities of UK to talk to companies\u2026 again to promote the opportunities and try and excite people of doing business here in the Philippines,\u201d Nelson explained during the conference.<\/span><\/p>\n

BCCP is also an active supporter of Project Repeal<\/strong>, which aims to repeal redundant and outdated laws in the country. As well as the Ease of Doing Business Act<\/strong> and the Retail Trade Liberalization Act<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The organization plans to bring their trade mission to Clark in the first quarter of 2019. <\/span>\u201cWe remain consistent, we remain the fact that we will try to do trade missions outside Metro Manila and we’re gonna continue with this activity,\u201d Nelson furthered.<\/span><\/p>\n
