The taxi booking service app GrabTaxi is now beta testing a motorbike taxi service called GrabBike in Makati and Bonifacio Global City.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3768\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/staff-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2015\/11\/Grabbike-4.jpg\" alt=\"Grabbike-4\" width=\"750\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Here\u2019s a fast rundown of the details about the proposed service:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">&#8211; Base fare: P40. With an additional P10 per kilometers for the first 2 to 7 kilometers, and an additional of P5 per kilometer after 8 kilometers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">&#8211; Fare will not exceed P50 if the trip is within Makati City only.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">-GrabBike riders are provided with a helmet, hairnet and face mask. Raincoats are also provided in case of rainfall.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">-Both passengers and drivers of the service are insured. Motorcycle drivers are required to undergo training.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">-For safety reasons, passengers wearing skirts are not allowed to book a trip.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">-Proper rider attire and specific motorcycle units are required by GrabBike.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said it is still studying if the new motorbike taxi service is under the rules governing Transport Network Companies (TNC).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">GrabTaxi Philippines said it is currently talking with the LTFRB as regards policies and authorization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">GrabTaxi has a certificate of accreditation given by LTFRB for its taxi and private car services but none yet for the motorbike service.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Grab Taxi provides services in the country\u2019s key cities like Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Bacolod and Baguio and has fast become a convenient alternative means patronized by the riding public.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">GrabBike is currently operating in other Asian key cities like Bangkok and Jakarta.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A faster option to outsmart the heavy traffic in Metro Manila is currently being tested and reviewed and may soon provide people with an alternative means of transportation other than the four-wheeled vehicles.
