Lots of plant-based foodies dropped by the VegFest Pilipinas 2018 happened last November 17 to 18, but they’re not the only ones who enjoyed the event–around 5,000\u00a0foodies were present, enjoying every kind of meal that’s\u00a0undoubtedly nutritious.<\/p>\n

On its third year with the theme \u201cLet There Be Peace On Every Plate\u201d, the VegFest Pilipinas truly fulfilled their advocacy to showcase cruelty-free products, whether it be food, beauty, clothes, and so much more.<\/p>\n

“We started thinking about it four years ago together with close friends. Many countries are already doing it, so why not the Philippines? It was high time for us to really make an effort for Filipinos to know the vegan lifestyle,”\u00a0TJ Jocson, organizer and co-founder of VegFest Pilipinas, said.<\/p>\n

Compared to last year, vegetarian and vegan merchants increased this year, which just proves that the plant-based community in the country is growing.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

“We have more than 100 merchants, and most of them are local.” TJ said. “For the past two years, we only have 50 to 60 merchants, and we are very happy that the vegan business or those restaurants offering vegan options are growing.”<\/p>\n

Rice meals, desserts, even pizzas, you name it–every luscious meal at the event was enjoyed by everyone of all ages.<\/p>\n

Even kids were present at the event, enjoying the healthy treats that they don’t know are actually veggies.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Aside from the mouthwatering food, VegFest also showcased other\u00a0products, such as stickers, shirts,\u00a0bags, among other accessories!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Moreover, there were talks about vegan and vegetarian campaigns, so aside from the happy tummies, attendees were also educated about what it’s really like to live and support a cruelty-free lifestyle.<\/p>\n

The two-day festival once again proved that anyone can eat delicious meals while still being healthy.\u00a0Everyone was also passionate enough to spark a conversation with one another,\u00a0sharing stories about their transition into a healthier living.<\/p>\n

“We, the organizers, would like to thank all those you came in and supported the cause to help the community not just our beneficiary, but also the local businesses and animal welfare groups,” TJ added.<\/p>\n

So\u00a0for those of you who were\u00a0not able to attend the event, VegFest Pilipinas is definitely coming back next year.<\/p>\n

There’s still so much in store as the organizers are also planning to showcase the event not just in Manila, but also in other key cities in the country!<\/p>\n
