For the second time in a row, the island of Palawan emerged at the top in a world poll conducted by the US magazine Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveler.<\/span><\/p>\n

Considered as the last frontier of the Philippines being situated in the westernmost part, Palawan is a dazzling jewel in the country\u2019s cluster of islands with its immaculate beaches, laidback culture, and warm, beautiful people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Famed for its UNESCO World Heritage Site underground river that travels five miles through a subterranean cave system, as well as its breathtaking lagoons, reefs, rich flora and fauna, Palawan bested other world-famous islands all over the world including Santorini, Maldives, Bora-Bora French Polynesia, Tasmania, and Bali with its over-all rating of 85.937.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Philippines\u2019 Cebu (19th<\/sup>) and Boracay (15th<\/sup>) also made it to the list.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s poll included more than 128,000 travelers as respondents, the most number of participants in its history. The islands were \u201cjudged on a set of criteria relevant to their category, based on a standard five-point scale: excellent, very good, good, fair and poor.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
