With one common goal to protect and save the Earth, various non-government organizations (NGOs) and schools gathered in a\u00a0one-day event called \u201cJuan Earth\u201d<\/strong> on September 29<\/strong> at Bonifacio High Street Activity Center in Taguig<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As a way of giving back to the planet, Juan Earth is a grassroots effort produced by Write On Track and its dedicated team of community volunteers. Celebrating its 5th year, the\u00a0marketing services agency wanted to educate and empower people to create a healthier and more sustainable world.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver a thousand individuals participated in the event, some shared their performing arts talents, some shared their time, some donated, some volunteered, some provided resources, and some just held our hand,\u201d Write On Track Chief Operating Officer Koko Tamura said. \u201cIt was truly a heart-melting moment for us when we saw all are participating and contributing to our CSR efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the event, the activity center was loaded with different activities such as talks and workshops about the different group advocacies. There were booths installed where visitors could visit and support projects of the participating NGOs and schools they were interested in.<\/p>\n

In support of \u201cAdopt-a-Seedling\u201d program by the Haribon Foundation<\/strong>, visitors were able to adopt a seedling of any of the Philippine native tree species like Narra, Dao, Kamagong, <\/em>Makaasim, <\/em>and Lauan<\/em>, with a minimum donation of Php 350. Proceeds will support the forest restoration activities of Haribon Foundation in denuded forests around the country.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the SIFCARE-CURMA<\/strong> (Coastal Underwater Resource Management Actions) launched its Adopt-a-Pawikan-Nest program wherein volunteers were able to adopt a turtle nest for any amount they\u00a0can donate and get to release its baby turtles back to the sea.<\/p>\n

University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute<\/strong> introduced their advocacy\u00a0of raising clams, which are vital to the coral reefs. Volunteers\u00a0were able to adopt clams which will be released at the Silaqui Ocean Nursery, the largest population of giant clams in the Philippines.<\/p>\n

Through CARA Welfare Philippines<\/strong>, attendees were also able to adopt abandoned and rescued dogs and cats by fostering them and giving homes they deserve.<\/p>\n
