To mark its fifth year, XO46 Heritage Bistro<\/a> opened its fourth store at SM Aura Premier. Located on the 3rd<\/sup> floor, XO46 seats 86 with an intimate dining room for 10 people.<\/span><\/p>\n

The new store sports a wide glass fa\u00e7ade showcasing a traditional Filipino \u2013 Colonial dining room harking back to early turn-of-the-century homes. Matted brick walls, gold-gilded mirrored frames and back-lit capiz shutters are among the trimmings that make the interiors unmistakably XO. On the walls are framed antique photos and prints from the couple\u2019s (owners Andrew and Sandee Masigan) numerous trips to Spain.<\/span><\/p>\n

Armed with their passion and their 24 years in the food and restaurant business, Andrew, a food industry veteran, writer and businessman and his wife Sandee (Siytangco) \u2013 food stylist, writer and food fanatic, opened the first XO46 five years ago along Valero St. in Salcedo Village, Makati. At a time when most of the restaurants were foreign franchises, Andrew and Sandee pushed their advocacy for Filipino cuisine. \u201cWe\u2019ve always believed that our food is just as good as the rest of the world\u2019s. We should be the first to acknowledge that and not wait for affirmation from foreigners.\u201d, says Andrew.<\/span><\/p>\n

Five years since its first branch opened, XO46 has seen how the Filipino cuisine has been getting the share of the limelight it deserves in the global cuisine stage. And XO46\u2019s newest branch in SM Aura is another testament to the world-class fineness of the Filipino food, with its regional nuances, endemic ingredients, and the sense of hospitality incorporated in its preparation from cooking to serving.<\/span><\/p>\n
