Many of these films won awards in local and international film competitions since 2005.\u00a0The independent film festival already showcased over 1,000\u00a0films by independent directors since it was established.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-32697\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2018\/08\/anne-curtis-buybust-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em>Anne Curtis is Nina Manigan in Erik Matti&#8217;s BuyBust<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Erik Matti&#8217;s BuyBust, starring Anne Curtis, and Brandon Vera, was\u00a0the festival&#8217;s opening film. Days prior to its official screening, Buybust\u00a0was given a rating of\u00a0100 on Rotten Tomatoes, a popular film review site in the US.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">BuyBust follows the story of Nina Manigan, a\u00a0rookie narcotics officer who joins a buy-bust operation in the slums of Manila.
