The 10<\/span>th<\/span> day of May 2018 marks the opening of Palawan\u2019s newest airport in San Vicente. <\/span>The launching of the airport was led by Transportation Secretary Arthur P. Tugade together with Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines Director General Jim C. Sydiongco. Finance Undersecretary Garry V. de Guzman was there to grace the ceremony as well as the Palawan Governor Jose C. Alvarez.<\/span><\/p>\n

San Vicente Airport<\/span> can accommodate 150 passengers, three times the capacity of the more common 50-passenger community airport. The airport also makes it\u00a0<\/span>easier for tourists to access\u00a0what is said to be <\/span>the longest white sand beach in the Philippines, known as Long Beach.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aside from the Long Beach,\u00a0San Vicente, located north of Puerto Princesa City, has 22 islands and islets that has\u00a0something to offer for its visitors.<\/span> Tugade said that President Rodrigo Duterte is committed to <\/span>ensuring the growth of Philippine tourism and to make that possible, it should be easy for people to access the amazing places in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

San Vicente Airport is the second of two airports located in mainland Palawan, the first being the Puerto Princesa International Airport. The Philippine government, meanwhile, is on the hunt for a suitable location to open up the island known as The Last Frontier.<\/span><\/p>\n
