When you are awarded a 4-star Skytrax rating, the only next move should be to go further, and that is exactly what the Philippine Airlines (PAL) is after now as they undertake major initiatives. After announcing their newest lineup of local flight destinations, hubs, and planes including the\u00a0Airbus A321, PAL is going for more routes internationally such as New York.<\/p>\n

That’s right, you read it, PAL will soon fly\u00a0non-stop to New York J.F. Kennedy Airport starting October. The flight non-stop basis will be for both directions that replaces their 1-stop flight via Vancouver.\u00a0Boeing 777-300ER will operate this route, up to 15.5 hours of block time. The airline plans to also service\u00a0Seattle, Chicago, and a point in Western Europe afterward.<\/p>\n

Philippine Airlines has also released news that\u00a0the brand new Terminal 2 of the Mactan Cebu International Airport in Lapu Lapu City will operate international flights starting June 22. Destinations include\u00a0Cebu to Bangkok (daily), Beijing (once-a-week), Chengdu (once-a-week), Nagoya (thrice weekly), Osaka (daily), Seoul (Incheon) (daily) and Tokyo Narita (twice daily). The\u00a0international airport expects to serve 11.2 million passengers annually. The area spans 45,000 square meters with a 2-level forecourt segregating arrivals and departures with 48 check-in counters.<\/p>\n
