This makes the walled city perfect for the Lenten tradition.<\/p>\n<p>For a long time, only two churches stood the test of war and time\u00a0\u2014 until the Intramuros Administration and the Department of Tourism launched a new project for their newly opened Faith and Farm tourism sector. STOCK PHOTO<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Seven Chapels open this Holy Week on Intramuros:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>San Agustin Church<\/li>\n<li>Manila Cathedral<\/li>\n<li>Mapua University Chapel<\/li>\n<li>Lyceum of the Philippines University Chapel<\/li>\n<li>Knights of Columbus Fr. Willman Chapel<\/li>\n<li>Guadalupe Shrine in Fort Santiago<\/li>\n<li>San Ignacio Church<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Additionally, a stage play depicting of &#8220;The Martyr of Golgotha&#8221; will be held at Tangahalang Santa Ana on Maundy Thursday. The\u00a0<em>senakulo<\/em>-inspired staging is endorsed by the Cultural Center of the Philippines.\u00a0Intramuros will also have a <em>Via Crucis<\/em> or stations of the cross set up along General Luna street\u00a0from Beatro to Muralla, from Maundy Thursday until Black Saturday.<\/p>\n<p><em>Visita Iglesia<\/em> is one of the most popular Holy Week tradition observed by\u00a0hundreds of\u00a0Catholics. It is done by visiting seven churches on\u00a0Maundy Thursday and Good Friday as a reference to the seven last words and seven wounds of Jesus up till his death.
