<\/p>\nHeads up, motorists! If you have any plans this Sunday, February 25, that involves you crossing the middle part of EDSA, you may want to take a rain check.<\/p>\n

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) just announced that they will be closing a portion of EDSA and White Plains Drive in line with the 32nd<\/sup> anniversary celebration of the People Power Revolution.<\/p>\n In a statement released on their official Facebook page, the MMDA said the northbound stretch of EDSA from Ortigas Avenue to Santolan will be partially closed from 12 am to 6 am on Sunday. Two outer lanes will be taken up, leaving just the three inner lanes from the EDSA-Ortigas flyover passable.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, both directions of White Plains Drive (Temple Dr. to EDSA) will be closed off to all traffic from 12:01 am onwards.<\/p>\n The National Historical Commission of the Philippines, headed by Executive Director Ludovico Badoy, has been designated to lead the organization and implementation of the commemorative activities for the 32nd anniversary of the People Power Revolution, which focuses on the theme \u201cEDSA 2018: Effecting Change Towards Strengthened Democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n For a day, White Plains Drive will be used as a venue for medical, dental, and optical services such as free eye check-up and reading glasses.<\/p>\n A Diskwento Caravan will also be put up where the public can enjoy food items, indigenous products, and leather goods at discounted prices.<\/p>\n Affected motorists are advised to avoid the said areas and instead use following alternate routes:<\/p>\n ALONG EDSA (SOUTHBOUND) ALONG EDSA (NORTHBOUND) \u201cWe are expecting a lot of visitors to participate in the whole day activities,\u201d said Garcia during a press briefing on Friday. He added that at least 150 traffic enforcers will be deployed to man traffic along EDSA.<\/p>\n Traffic enforcers are also tasked to guide motorists traversing the alternate routes and supervise the execution of the traffic management plan to sustain the unimpeded flow of vehicles.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2018\/02\/5.jpg\")
