There are two schools designated for the visually impaired in the Philippines: one of them is the Philippine National School for the Blind (PNSB)<\/strong> in Pasay City<\/strong>.\u00a0PNSB houses hundreds of students who also reside in the school dormitory.<\/p>\n

On\u00a0January 26, 2018, two months\u00a0after the donations were given, the renovations of the\u00a0PNSB Dormitory Building\u00a0has finally been finished. This project is funded by Free the Children Japan (FTCJ)\u00a0<\/strong>and Geronimo Berenguer de Los Reyes, Jr. Foundation, Inc<\/strong>. The turnover took place at the PNSB Covered Court where esteemed guests were invited such as the\u00a0Ambassador of Japan to the Philippines, Koji Haneda, and his wife, Ihoko Haneda.<\/p>\n

Also present at the event are Ms. Yukari Ishida, in charge of\u00a0FTCJ\u2019s Education for the Visually Impaired Project in the Philippines and\u00a0Ms. Baby Herrera, President of the Geronimo Berenguer de Los Reyes, Jr. Foundation, Inc.<\/p>\n

Certificates of\u00a0Appreciation were given by Pasay City’s first lady Edna Calixto who also presented the certificates last year when Japan Prime Minister\u00a0Shinzo Abe came to PNSB.<\/p>\n

\"\"Ribbon cutting and unveiling of the marker<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

All of them gathered on the second floor of the Dormitory building for the ribbon cutting and unveiling of the markers and newly renovated dormitories. The said organizations hope to improve the school\u00a0through the years to come and to motivate the students and give them conducive environment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
