About 1,500 applicants were served during the day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24931\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2018\/01\/26239870_944182355736599_4072352510096242260_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"905\" height=\"603\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2018\/01\/26239870_944182355736599_4072352510096242260_n.jpg 905w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2018\/01\/26239870_944182355736599_4072352510096242260_n-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2018\/01\/26239870_944182355736599_4072352510096242260_n-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 905px) 100vw, 905px\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em>IMAGE\u00a0Department of Foreign Affairs Republic of the Philippines Facebook page<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Initiated by Cayetano, the Passport on Wheels program aims to enable more Filipinos, especially those in areas not easily accessible to DFA Consular Offices, to obtain a passport by bringing the service right to their doorstep.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Currently, DFA has four mobile vehicles that are each equipped with five passport data capturing machines (DCMs) and a capacity of 500 applicants per day. POW will initially cover parts of the National Capital Region (NCR) that are not currently served by the six mall-based DFA Consular Offices.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24933\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2018\/01\/26758191_943988255756009_3319501076876360369_o.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1440\" height=\"1080\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em>IMAGE Department of Foreign Affairs Republic of the Philippines Facebook page<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In the past months, criticism of the DFA arose due to the difficulty of acquiring slots through the DFA online passport appointment system. Waiting time for applicants usually extended up to three months.
