There is an unexplored history that’s waiting to be re<\/em>-discovered on a remote island in Shinto- and Buddhist-dominated Japan.<\/p>\n

Amakusa, a remote island west of Japan with natural scenery that’s barely tainted, once served as home to missionaries and believers of Christianity. While they once saw a period of flourish, the story of the Christians in Amakusa didn’t go as smoothly as fairy tales do.<\/p>\n

In the three-part documentary “Keeping the Faith: The Story of Japan’s Hidden Christians,” Filipino actor and host Robi Domingo joins Japanese actor Kaz Sawamura in retracing\u00a0the history of Christianity in Japan and visiting places where this religion had once flourished.<\/p>\n

You can watch their journey on ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) on December 14<\/strong>, December 28<\/strong>, and January 11, 2018<\/strong>, from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n
