<\/p>\nPasig River has been known both as a historical and important route for trading and export, and\u00a0was once a reliable source of fresh water. Through the years,\u00a0ecologists, researchers, and different sectors of the government declared this body of water as something overly-polluted and in need of help.<\/p>\n

IMAGE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in Facebook<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n With an advocacy of reviving Pasig River to its once-beautiful state, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) partnered with some of the biggest companies in the country in holding an art project to continually promote urban change, which is deemed favorable by all through the Pasig River Art for Urban Change.<\/p>\n As\u00a0the governing body in charge of planning, monitoring, and exercising regulatory and supervisory authority of services within Metro Manila, MMDA will be exhibiting artworks painted in murals on nine different pumping stations surrounding the river itself.<\/p>\n The completion of the project will serve as a gateway for the creative sector to collaborate and pitch ideas\u00a0towards the complete regeneration of the river, paving the way for the creation of a livable and inclusive city. In addition, murals painted on the walls of the different pumping stations will allow its patrons to appreciate their use and existence, rather than being looked at as a common and dull infrastructure within the metro.<\/p>\n The nine different mural paintings can now be viewed by the public through ferry rides or passing by roads and bridges along the river itself.
