After a successful exhibit held May this year in New York featuring 30 Filipino artists, Pint\u00f4 Art is once again opening a huge door for Filipino artists that leads to global recognition\u2014and this time, the door is open for good.<\/p>\n

\"\"Pint\u00f4 International officially opened its permanent showroom last December 1. \/IMAGE Pint\u00f4 Art Facebook page<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

On December 1, Pint\u00f4 International, the international arm of Pint\u00f4 Art Museum in Antipolo, officially opened its permanent showroom located at 431 East 12th Street in Manhattan’s East Village through an inaugural exhibit.<\/p>\n

The exhibit is entitled “Buk\u00e1s<\/em>” (a Filipino word that means “to open”) which symbolizes the opening of doors (pint\u00f4<\/em> in Filipino) that will serve as a gateway for Eastern and Western countries to nurture awareness and mutual understanding in the world of art and culture. Buk\u00e1s is showcasing works by different Filipino contemporary artists like Reynaldo Samson, Manuel Ocampo, and Jana Benitez.<\/p>\n

This milestone in Filipino artistry has been made possible because of one man’s confidence and support of local art. \u201cI feel our artists are definitely more international in approach and very anchored in their culture,\u201d Dr. Joven Cuanang, the man behind Pint\u00f4 Art Museum, shared with Town & Country Philippines.<\/p>\n

The opening of the permanent showroom is said to have gained the support of Philippine art connoisseur Dedes Zobel, American fashion designer Josie Natori, and the Rockefeller family.<\/p>\n
